Is a digital IDP accepted in Costa Rica?

Many destinations reachable on a map require a high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicle in practice, and standard policies commonly exclude river crossings and unpaved routes.
In a roadside check. Traffic police conduct roadside checks and will ask for the passport alongside the licence, because the entry stamp is what evidences your authorised stay. Road conditions vary sharply between the Interamericana and rural routes, and unlit roads with pedestrians are common after dark.
